Past and Current Projects
One of the most satisfying aspects of running a business such as this is when we get a substantial order that generates significant incomes for the artisans we work with. This page is to say thanks to the businesses, designers and buyers who make our job a little easier.
Like any other enterprise, we are subject to the ups and downs that is associated with any business. During the lulls in between large orders things can get very tough for the artisans. Then an email arrives with an enquiry that evolves into a large order and it is smiles all round again.
During these lulls we are beset by doubts and during a temporary low moment, think of closing the business. However, there is always the high points that keep us going. Like when an old woman, who has been beading for years, got a big order that we managed to secure for her. Afterwards she came to us and thanked us for enabling her to put electricity in her home. Or like when Makhosi Shoba returned from Portugal and Spain in January 2007 and had earned enough to afford the installation of running water to her house instead of having to use the communal tap 70 metres from her home.
Have a look at some of our past and current projects to see who we are working with and what we are doing for them. In return, they are enabling us to pay our artisans enough to improve the quality of their lives.
